After the October Revolution of 1917, a GOELRO plan for electrification of the country was developed under the leadership of Lenin.

2. Over 300 thermal and hydraulic power plants will be built in the RSFSR in twenty years
3. Electricity generation will increase tenfold and reach two trillion kilowatt-hours
4. In 1961, 220 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced, or 12% more than in 1960.
