Antique Vintage Patented 1879 TUBULAR Kerosene Oil Barn Lantern Lamp with Blow Hole on the Side.  The last patent date I can read on the neck is 1879.
The lantern measures about 19 1/2 inches tall with the handle up and 13 1/2 inches tall with the handle down, 5 3/4 inches across the bottom.  The lantern is strong and sturdy but there is some solder repair on the very bottom.  Someone painted it brown many years ago probably to hide a bit of a sandy/pitted finish, there are some small dings/dents here and there but no splits or cracks.  The burner thumbscrew turns but there is no wick inside.
The globe measures about 6 1/2 inches tall, 3 1/4 inches across the bottom and 2 7/8 inches across the top.  No cracks or large chips on the globe, the globe is signed with an E at the top.  The small screw cap for the fuel
reservoir is missing.
