The American alligator, sometimes referred to colloquially as a gator or common alligator, is a large crocodilian reptile endemic to the Southeastern United States (* mostly Florida & Louisiana).
There are two different species of alligator, the American alligator and the Chinese alligator - this is the Made in American One!

The average lifespan is 30-50 years... yes person years
The average adult male can grow to weigh over 450 kg (1000 lb)
On land the Alligator is relatively awkward, but in the water they can swim very quickly using their tails. This makes it easier for them to catch prey. American alligators can swim up to 20 mph (32.18 km/h) and run on land as fast as 11 mph (17.7 km/h) - it is rumored that if you are ever being chased by an alligator you should run in zig-zags with frequent turns as they can not turn well on land.
Even from a state of rest, alligators can jump up to six feet into the air! An alligator's jump isn't just limited to jumping out of the water. They've been known to jump so they can get up to a tree branch faster and then climb to their prey.
The average male alligator ranges from 10-15 feet approximately when full grown and females grow to about 8.5 feet
Often confused with crocodiles, alligators can easily be distinguished from crocodiles by the shape of their snout. While alligators have broad u-shaped snouts, crocodiles’ snouts are v-shaped.
Like other reptiles, alligators are cold-blooded
American alligators have been observed using lures to hunt birds. They balance sticks and branches on their heads, attracting birds looking for nesting material
Alligators have a powerful bite but the muscles that open the jaw are relatively weak. An adult human could hold the jaws of an alligator shut with their bare hands - but the muscles that shut them are very strong and have awesome force, about 300 pounds per square inch in an adult.
Alligator lay eggs when they hatch new babies - they become male or female depending on the temperature, male in warmer temperatures and female in cooler temperatures / an alligator can lay over 50 eggs in a single season
Alligators eat a range of different animals such as fish, birds, turtles, and even deer.
You will receive ONE approximate 12 Inch alligator head (very similar to the ones on the photos) - this would have been attached to about a 8-10+ foot alligator
