The American alligator, sometimes referred to colloquially as a gator or common alligator, is a large crocodilian reptile endemic to the Southeastern United States (* mostly Florida & Louisiana).
There are two different species of alligator, the American alligator and the Chinese alligator - this is the Made in American One!

The average male alligator ranges from 10-15 feet approximately when full grown and females grow to about 8.5 feet
Often confused with crocodiles, alligators can easily be distinguished from crocodiles by the shape of their snout. While alligators have broad u-shaped snouts, crocodiles’ snouts are v-shaped.

American alligators have been observed using lures to hunt birds. They balance sticks and branches on their heads, attracting birds looking for nesting material
Alligators have a powerful bite but the muscles that open the jaw are relatively weak. An adult human could hold the jaws of an alligator shut with their bare hands.
Alligator lay eggs when they hatch new babies - they become male or female depending on the temperature, male in warmer temperatures and female in cooler temperatures / an alligator can lay over 50 eggs in a single season
Alligators eat a range of different animals such as fish, birds, turtles and even deer.

The Jaw measures approximately 14 inches x and roughly 10 Inches, measured from the left edge of the cartilage across to the right edge of the cartilage.
Jaw was harvested for food and was cleaned, sun dried and whitened (from Taiwan)
The teeth are real sharp!
Jaw will have some imperfections from normal use (from previous owner), meaning it might have missing or chipped teeth.
There might be blemishes from use or battles
For over 150 years, marine biologists thought there was only one type of mako shark: the shortfin mako (Isurus oxyrhinchus) - that what this jaw is, which got its scientific name in 1810.
A second mako—the longfin mako (Isurus paucus)—wasn't recognized as its own separate species until the mid 19 sixties.
Mako Sharks have the largest brain to body ratios of all sharks.
The Mako shark is the fastest of all sharks in the world
Mako Sharks are one of only five species of endothermic sharks. That means it can regulate its body temperature internally, essentially being considered a warm-blooded animal.
Mako Sharks are “obligate ram ventilators” which means they breath oxygen from the water washing over their gills. If they ever stopped swimming they would die. This means THEY NEVER SLEEP - instead they have periods of inactivity where they rest and restore their energy
Mako Sharks Love To Eat Swordfish
Mako Shark mating cycles only happen once every 1.5 years. Female Mako Sharks then have gestation periods that last eighteen months. So Mako Sharks mate at a maximum of once every three years. Since female Mako Sharks do not reach sexual maturity until 19-20 years, and only live an average of 30 years, a Mako Shark may only give birth 3 times their entire lives.
Only eight mako shark attacks have been documented, and none were fatal.
Mako sharks have been seen swimming up to speeds of 50 miles per hour (80 KPH)
Mako shark has long, thin, sharp and slightly tilted teeth that are visible even when shark keeps the mouth closed. Teeth are arranged in 12 to 13 rows in the upper jaw and 11 to 12 rows in the lower jaw.
