The sign "Forestry Infantry Regiment" is a reward, which was established on May 2, 1912. Visually, it was made in the form of a red cross, against which stood a silver sword, which had a golden hilt, analogous to it was located on the Petrovsky banners.
The sign "Forestry Infantry Regiment" was intended for servicemen of the regiment with a rich history. The unit was created May 16, 1803 as a serf infantry regiment. There were three battalions in his composition, and he was called the Peter's Musketeer Regiment. During the Swedish War of 1808 Petrovtsi were introduced into the detachment of Count Kamensky and baptism of fire took place from June 13 to 26 in battles near Lappo and Vase, and then near the towns of Kuortane and Orovaise. A year later, the regiment was included in the corps of Bagration, which followed the Aland Islands, and in 1811 was awarded the name of the Petrovsky regiment. In 1812, the regiment was part of the group that stormed Danzig, and then participated in the battles for the Croon, Leipzig and Dennewitz as part of the Northern Army.
For their rich history of existence, parts of the regiment participated in various wars and battles, so companies and battalions separately received signs of honor. The 225th Forest Regiment was first formed in Minsk in 1811, in honor of the victory over the Swedes under the village of Lesnaya in 1708.
