A Russian silver medal "For the Salvation of the Perishing", Alexander III. St. Petersburg Mint, 1881–1894 Medalist L.H. Steinman. People representing all classes were awarded with such medals "for the exploits of humanity, with the danger of their own lives committed," silver medals were issued for saving people during fires, natural disasters, drowning, etc.
