Great piece from the estate today. Massive Soviet Communist propaganda poster featuring a haunting powerful impression of Karl Marx an promoting: "Long Live the All-Conquering, Eternally Living, Revolutionary Teachings of MARX-ENGELS-LENIN!. This poster was created in 1977. It has an abundance of provinance and information. The painter, Vladimir Sachkov, is well reknown for poster works in many fields of Soviet era life. The 1977 Date and much other information, as seen in photos, is contained on the sheets. The authorization for production came through the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Redactor was S. Kochanov and the Technical Redactor was L. Kotyagina. This is an offset lithograph with a print run of around 27,000 I believe. is was created from Leningrad Offset Printing Factory #1 and released through Plakat, The All Union Poster Publishing House.The large rectangular poster featuring the facial image of Marx measures 31" x 46". The 2 piece banner combines to a full 11" x 91". Having much familiarity with its" history and actual physical condition, I can guarantee originality.
