MILITARY MACAW parrot on VINTAGE MURANO ITALIAN GLASS LAMP

Description

This unique piece features the Military Macaw. The bird is made of bisque and measures about 19" from head to tail. He is cast by hand and then completely re-sculpt to fit this piece. It is then kiln fired, entirely painted by hand and accessorized. The bird has glass eyes with skin-like lids, realistic facial skin, tipped feathers and is EXTREMELY LIFELIKE as he perches on the glass shade. The Italian blown glass shade is 12 1/2" tall. It is white glass with blue, green, red and yellow accents that look as if they have been "scribbled" on to the piece. It is vintage, from the 60's which probably explains the wild pattern and the substance of the glass. The design is very unusual and is sure to make this a real conversation piece. A porcelain candelabra socket is hidden in the lamp; the on/off switch is on the wire. This Functional Art is signed and dated and is ONE OF A KIND and will NEVER BE DUPLICATED.
