The Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR was a mass sports competition in the USSR in 1956-1991. There were two types of sports days of the peoples of the USSR: the summer sports days of the peoples of the USSR, as a rule, were organized in the pre-Olympic year, and the winter sports days of the peoples of the USSR - two years before the Olympic Games.
