The commemorative medal "The Millennium of Russia" was minted in 1862 in honor of the opening of the monument in the city of Novgorod "The Millennium of Russia".
The medal was minted with a diameter of 35 mm and a thickness of 3.3 mm.

The obverse of this commemorative medal depicts the monument “The Millennium of Russia” installed in the city of Veliky Novgorod. On the reverse side of the medal in its center is a medallion, where there is a profile image of Prince Rurik and Tsar Alexander II. At the bottom of the medal is an image of a two-headed eagle with a crown of the Russian Empire.
Bronze with gold.
