SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD LANTERN – Signal Red CNX Lantern Globe

$ 78.67

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
  • Condition: The lantern frame is in excellent condition; retains most of its original tinning, nice smooth metal, stands straight and has no major dents, bent, broken or missing parts. It comes with an Adlake 400 fount and burner (takes a 7/8” flat wick). Fount & burner appear to be fully functional; wick easily adjusts up and down when the adjuster is turned. It should hold fuel and burn but has not been tested. There is no manufacture date embossed on the bottom. It has the factory drain hole in the bottom, so it dates from the mid-fifties or later. The Signal Red Lantern Globe is in excellent condition and is free of chips, cracks, scratches, or cloudiness. The lantern globe is cast “ADLAKE KERO” and has the “CNX” Corning Glass Trademark cast on the opposite side. As with any lantern globe that saw railroad service, there may be some roughness on the rims which will not show when the globe is seated in a lantern frame.
