USSR National Flag, in wool bunting, as used by Soviet Merchant Fleet, dated 1989.
This is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL Soviet flag made in 1989, not a souvenir, post-Soviet reissue, or replica!
The flag is made in wool bunting, the sturdy and rough wool fabric traditionally used in the Soviet Union to manufacture naval and merchant fleet flags.  It is in Medium to Large size, 53 inches long  x  25 inches wide (over 4.5' x 2') – ideal size to make a great backdrop for the Soviet collection yet not too large to make it hard to display. The canvas hoist sleeve shows the manufacturer’s stamp (Galantereynaya Factory) as well as 1989 date of manufacture, Soviet GOST manufacturing standard code, mark CCCP (“USSR”), and round factory quality inspection stamp.
The flag is in excellent SUPERB CONDITION, perfectly clean and with strong unfaded colors. It is completely free of any moth damage, which is very uncommon for old Soviet flags made of wool fabric. Just to be sure, we’ve treated it in our special freezer to be sure that it remains free of any potential moth problem.
