Vintage Soviet Russian Collectible - Decorative Art - Commercial Art.
This is an interesting piece of vintage Soviet art, possibly commercial, it was described to me as a shop display. Heavy, silver colored metal for the statue and black plastic base. The image is of a blacksmith working on an anvil and there are three columns of different sizes to hold small objects.
The design of the statue and the face of the blacksmith are reminiscent of the Soviet realism style but the date is unknown. The description in Russian on the base of the statue reads “the significance of Tula for a great republic…” followed by the etched signature of Vladimir Lenin.
The Republic of Tula was a significant manufacturing hub for the Soviet Union.
Fair used condition, no breaks or cracks, some scuffs and wear.
