The variety of pastel colors on this 8" penny rug are so cute together and just right for a Valentine's Day mat. . .it reminds me of those tasty little candy hearts . . .I have done this piece in the old fashioned style of "coins" . . .lots of work in these mats and it makes a nice little Valentine's Day gift paired with a little glass jar filled with candy hearts or a small jar candle. . .the lavender and white gingham centerpiece is a 100% cotton and it will take a display base of up to 2 3/4" to fit in this center . . .I have hand appliqued this to an ivory felted wool felt in a color called "fresh linen"  . . .this has been hand appliqued to a fun cotton candy felted wool felt and mat is backed with this . . .there are 10 double layered coins in the same cotton candy pink felted wool felt . . .each is topped with an ivory coin . . .then double layered hearts in a variety of pastel colored felted wool felt . . .just yummy . . .beautiful quality handmade item. . .my own design and done entirely by hand by me. . .please see my excellent feedback for penny rugs and quilts - many wonderful and LOVED repeat buyers who keep me stitching
